NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

NLP has no absolute definition, though put simply it's

  • Thinking (Neuro)

  • Language (Linguistic)

  • Behaviour (Programming)

SO HOW CAN NLP HELP ME?

Throughout life, you become 'programmed' to think or feel in a certain way, depending on what you are told - or what you tell yourself - and you act out what you believe, so thought becomes behaviour.

We're mostly judged on our behaviour - good or bad.  It's possible to love a person yet be unhappy with what they do.

You may believe you can't change.  Changing the way you think and the way you behave, changes how you are judged - by yourself and by others.  Sound simple?  It is!

Henry Ford said "If you think you can or if you think you can't, you're probably right".

Behaviour follows belief.  Thought leads to action and the cycle of the 'self-fulfilling prophecy' is complete. A child who is bullied and belittled becomes an adult with low self-esteem and little natural confidence. It's never too late to change the messages and beliefs.

Listen to people who are confident, empowered and successful - their self-talk is only positive. For them failure isn't an option.

Low self-esteem improves with confidence building techniques and positive mental rehearsal to reinforce the new belief system.

  • With belief comes ability, achievement, success
  • Motivation is far more important than will-power.
  • NLP works by the power of positive thought - and only positive thought.
  • With practice, success is not only possible; it's inevitable
  • NLP works well with or without hypnosis.

What happens when I say "Do not think of a blue elephant"?

In order to 'not think' about something, we first have to think about it.

NLP plants the seeds for positive thought. Focus is on the new, not the old - on the future, not the past.

It's always about what you ARE going to do - on what you DO want.

  • positive thoughts = positive outcome.

Confidence is something we acquire AFTER we succeed and it continues to grow with each success, so don't wait until you think you have the confidence.

Want it - mean it - believe it - do it!

You should leave a session feeling more hopeful and empowered than when you arrived.

My aim is to enable you to find your own solutions so you can be independently confident.  NLP is one of the best techniques for allowing this to happen - in relationships, sports performance, career ... anything you want.

Paul McKenna is the best known example of NLP in action!  It's not magic - you will have to work at it - but the results are worth it.
